Michael J. Wurtsbaugh joined the
Michelson Organization in 2002 as Vice President after working as a
consultant for FanZ Enterprises, Inc., a NASCAR team and
merchandising company. Prior to joining FanZ, Mr. Wurtsbaugh
was Vice President – Finance
and Acquisitions and Chief Investment Officer for The Medve Group,
Inc., a St. Louis, Missouri – based private investment company and
fully-integrated developer/owner/manager of commercial real estate
on a national basis. At Medve, Mr. Wurtsbaugh was responsible for
investment management, banking relationships, project financing,
acquisitions and dispositions, project coordination, due diligence,
legal matters and tax planning. During his tenure, Mr. Wurtsbaugh
negotiated and consummated approximately $135 million of portfolio
transactions. In addition, he arranged and negotiated approximately
$175 million of financing, including senior, subordinated and
mezzanine positions. Prior to Medve (from 1993 to 1997), Mr.
Wurtsbaugh was Vice President/Sr. Relationship Manager for
Mercantile Bank of St. Louis, National Association, in St. Louis,
Missouri. Relationship management responsibilities for the
approximately $30 billion regional bank included new business
development and portfolio maintenance for a portfolio of
approximately $125 million in loan commitments. Awarded "Deal of
the Year" in 1995, for a proactive $35 million syndicated credit
facility he established for a strategically important relationship.
Mr. Wurtsbaugh also conducted due diligence reviews of acquired
banks for the bank holding company. Prior to Mercantile
(1986-1993), Mr. Wurtsbaugh was in commercial banking for regional
commercial banks in the Chicago Illinois Metro market and was a Bank
Liquidation Specialist for the Federal Deposit Insurance
Corporation. Mr. Wurtsbaugh earned an MBA from the Graduate School
of Business, Eastern Illinois University, Charleston, Illinois and a
B.S. in Finance, with a concentration in Accounting, from Indiana
University, School of Business, Bloomington, Indiana. |
